If you are unable to make your scheduled lesson; please email attendance@palsindiana.org
Each client will have two excused absences per session to be used at their discretion. PALS must be notified 24 hours prior to the lesson to give us time to fill the time slot.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice that are not of an emergency nature, will be considered an unexcused absence and will be charged for the full price of the lesson.
Emergency cancellations by the parent or client of an extreme nature will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
If a client has two (2) “No Call/No Shows/Unexcused Absences” per session; their lesson slot may be given to a waitlist client.
If rider refuses to ride:
If it happens within the first 15 minutes, it counts as an excused absence (each client is allotted two per session).
If it happens 15-30, we will charge for half a lesson.
Anything after 30 minutes is a full charge for the lesson.
Clients will be notified by phone and/or email if PALS needs to cancel a lesson due to inclement weather, staffing, or sickness by 10am on the day of the scheduled lesson, if possible.
Lessons canceled due to lack of volunteer support may be rescheduled at no cost to the client.
Horse related cancellations may be rescheduled at no cost to the client.
Weather related cancellations:
PALS reserves the right to cancel lessons due to extreme heat or cold. We will make every attempt to provide an unmounted activity during bad weather if possible.
General temperature guidelines that warrant the barn to close are: temperature 20 degrees or colder in the winter. Temperature of greater than 90 degrees in summer.
Severe weather-related cancellations that are unexpected and result in the abrupt cancellation of a lesson while it is in progress, are considered necessary for the safety of staff, clients, and volunteers and are non-refundable.
You will be contacted by phone and/or email if lessons are canceled.
